The design of this special 300-meter-long work of art refers to the themes of work and recreation. The fencing is constructed in such a way that it depicts undulating water. The beginning and end of the steel fencing are marked by abstract cyclists, cast from aluminum. They follow the cycle path and portray the theme of recreation. The interruptions of the abstract water flow at the exits of the companies represent the theme of work. Abstract fountains have been placed on the corners of Klompenmakerstraat to portray the importance of water. The design is by Tijmen Smit. Since the placement in 2013, the cyclists have been provided with appropriate clothing by strangers. This usually happens around Carnival, Easter, King's Day, Halloween and Christmas. Read more
